The Story

The ancient Japanese lore of folding a thousand paper cranes promises a wish to whoever can complete the task. According to Japanese mythology, cranes are a mythical and holy animal. They are known as the "Bird of Happiness" or "Honorable Lord Crane." It it also believed that cranes could live for a thousand years.Traditionally, a thousand cranes would be given as wedding present to wish for a thousand years of happiness and prosperity for the newly weds.
